'The happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of everything; They just make the most of everything they have.
There are no masters in the kingdom of God, only servants.
And whoever of you desires to be first shall be slave of all. Mark 10:44

Failure in people is caused more by lack of determination than lack in talent.
And let us not be weary in well doing; for in season we shall reap, if we faint not. Galatians 6:9

Our faith should be our steering wheel, not our spare tire. The righteous will live by faith. Habakkuk 2:4 NIV

The more God trusts us with, the more accountable we are for how we use it. For everyone to whom much is given, from him much will be required; and to whom much has been committed, of him they will ask the more. Luke 12:48

The Gift
an excerpt from "The Gift" written by Barry Lee Harwood
It’s awesome to know that every person born into this world came from the loins of Adam! Some imagine that God is, like, this “toymaker” in the Cosmos! He creates people and attaches “pull-strings” that make them say and do whatever He wants - or He inserts a key and He winds us up and we perform a programmed action for His own amusement. The truth is, we were created as free moral agents with the freedom to choose when, where, how and why we do what we do and pursue what we pursue. God is not a puppeteer and we’re not “handupme” humans. God has, however, created a perfect plan and a specific purpose for us to follow and we will (at some point in our life) be given the opportunity to accept or reject the truth of the Bible which contains the information we need to fulfill God’s plan. We, as free moral agents, choose our own way according to our upbringing and the way we were taught to live and learn. Before there were calendars and watches – before recorded time – before God said “let there be light” He knew your name (and mine). He knew when and where you would be born. He knew how your life would begin and end because He knows the beginning from the end.
Isaiah 46: 9, 10
9 Remember the former things of old, For I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like Me, 10 Declaring the end from the beginning, And from ancient times things that are not yet done, Saying, ‘My counsel shall stand, And I will do all My pleasure,’
God is a skillful potter. He saw “the lump of clay” we were and He foresaw “the vessel” we would (or potentially could) become!
Romans 8: 28-31
28 And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. 29 for those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the likeness of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. 30 And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified. 31 What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us?
There are Spiritual gifts and there are natural gifts. Every “good and perfect gift” comes from God; James 1: 17, 18. In our lifetime we will receive a lot of gifts; Christmas gifts, birthday gifts, anniversary gifts, “just because” gifts and so on and so forth. God is a giver; God gives gifts – God’s most precious gift to us is, of course, regeneration. The Creator God has given an endowment to every human being. God has given a gift to every person who has been or ever will be born into the earth. We’ve all been given an inborn capacity to take on the nature of God Himself and thereby fulfill a specific plan for our life and the lives of everyone we touch throughout our lifetime. Adam and Eve set the reproduction process in motion and bore the human race and we have a predisposition to connect with the God who created Adam and Eve. Understanding this makes it easy to follow a destiny that is unique to each individual and helps us to enjoy the good life that God’s plan and purpose provides.
